Wanting to get a jump on the festive season ahead? Wondering where to buy holiday and winter-related decorations during partial-lockdown? Has your neighborhood Migros, Coop or MParc locked away all of their non-edible holiday supplies? Good news! Somehow, the Schilliger garden centres in Plan-les-Ouates and Gland are open as usual.*

If you’ve never been inside a Schilliger, there is no time like the present to check out the fun and festive atmosphere, plus its Pinterest-worthy merchandising. Particularly if you’re missing the traditional Christmas markets that pop up this time of year throughout Switzerland, Germany and France.

The Plan-les-Ouates store is just outside of Geneva (via bus 22 & 42, or a 15-minute drive from town, through Carouge, heading towards France on rte de St. Julien.)

As you enter the store, you’ll see a vast array of Christmas ornaments, lights, vibrant poinsettias and charming winter scenes beautifully arranged and illuminated. Needing tablescape inspiration for your dining table or buffet/sideboard? Your search ends here.

Don’t miss the charming miniature winter village (children will be transfixed), complete with a miniature ski lift! Little ones will also enjoy the nearly life–size animatronic animals, set in charming Alpine scenes.

Looking for gift ideas? In addition to the holiday gear, there is plenty to browse, including indoor and outdoor plants, gardening supplies, pet care, home accessories and more. As you near the exit, a charming epicerie awaits with a great selection of teas, biscuits, honeys/jams, cocktail mixes and other treats.
