Guests arriving in town for a visit? Looking for interesting ways to fill a weekend or evening? Then you might wonder how best to discover what’s happening in/around Geneva. Below are a few helpful links that might help:
Know It All Passport: This is a great website and guidebook that keeps an up-to-date calendar of events in Geneva and Vaud. You can also sign up for the weekly newsletter, so the information will come straight to your inbox.
Starticket and Ticketcorner: Missing live music in Geneva? Curious to know which musical/theater/sport productions are coming through Geneva and other major Swiss cities? Then spend a bit of time exploring Starticket and Ticketcorner. These two user-friendly websites, available in English, are portals for information as well as for purchasing tickets for upcoming events:
Geneva Arena, Palexpo, and the Stade de Geneve: For Geneva’s larger venues, sometimes it’s useful to go straight to their websites to view their respective calendars. These venues hold a variety of large-scale events, some occurring on a yearly basis (the Geneva Auto Show, Les Automnales, Salon de Livre) and others one-off (musical acts, sporting events, etc.)
These are the same websites I check when writing the monthly What’s On column for the AIWC Courier, and it’s always a challenge to narrow the list to highlight just a few events. Happy planning! And if you attend a worthwhile event, or have your own favorite source of What’s On information, please do share in the comments below!
We are a group of international women living in Geneva, Switzerland. If you would like to learn more about our activities and excursions, visit our website at http://www.aiwcgeneva.org/
Hi Katherine,
I often read your column and have often thought we should meet for coffee! I am the editor of thingstodoingeneva.ch – an English site with over 50,000 monthly visitors – aiming to give info about what’s happening in Geneva. Perhaps we can collaborate or see if there are some ways we can work together/
Thanks, Chené
