There’s a chill in the air and the birds aren’t singing anymore. Autumn’s on its way which makes our Open House (next Wednesday, September 12 from 10:00-12:00) a perfect time to get out, meet new friends and prepare to explore this great country we live in.
If you’ve yet to attend an AIWC Open House, we look forward to welcoming you to this busy and fun event. What can you expect? Women of all ages and nationalities. You will meet many of the Club’s 40+ volunteer activity leaders while sipping a steaming cup of fresh-brewed coffee and nibbling from plates of delicious home-baked treats. Each leader will have a reserved place at a table where they can answer questions about their activity, introduce themselves to prospective members and provide additional details about the AIWC.
From language lessons to hiking, bridge to photography, blogging to painting, community volunteering to sharing delicious food; all of these activities and more will be represented at the Open Houses.
In addition, you’ll get more information about some of our upcoming events such as tours of the Jet d’Eau machine room, the Omega Watch Museum and the Swiss Parliament in Bern. We’ll be celebrating an international Thanksgiving, Christmas and the 60s (with a rock ‘n’ roll fundraiser for the Anouk Foundation).
Don’t be dissuaded by our name! AIWC members represent more than 45 nationalities from all corners of the globe. At the Welcome Coffee, many of our members will be there to share with you more about our club’s history, activities, and community service. No advance registration is necessary.
The AIWC is located on the 4th floor at 11 Route de Chêne, Geneva. The closest public transportation stops are Amandolier on the #12 tram line and Gare des Eaux Vives on the #21 bus line. For more information, please see our website or phone our offices at +41 22 736 01 20.
We hope you’ll join us Wednesday morning!
