La rentrée, or the return, is upon us.  This period, from the end of August through the beginning of September, corresponds with the end of summer holidays for children and adults alike.  At the AIWC, we have begun preparing for two of our biggest annual events – the Fall Open Houses.

Like Swiss clockwork, the Open Houses are held on the 2nd Wednesdays of both September and October.

If you have yet to attend an AIWC Open House, we look forward to welcoming you to one of these busy and fun events. What can you expect?  Women of all ages and nationalities. You will meet many of the Club’s 40+ volunteer activity leaders while sipping a steaming cup of fresh-brewed coffee and nibbling from plates of delicious home-baked treats. Each leader will have a reserved place at a table, where they can answer questions about their activity, introduce themselves to prospective members, and provide additional details about the AIWC.

From language lessons to hiking, bridge to photography, the AIWC blog to jewelry making, all of these activities and more will be represented at the Open Houses.  In addition, you get more information about some of our upcoming events such as the tour of the Jet d’Eau machine room, the expo Cézanne in Martigny, our lecture on the Girl with a Pearl Earring and our Autumn Fest with fiddling and line dancing.

These events are designed for everyone to enjoy, from newcomers to long-time AIWC members.  It’s a wonderful opportunity to catch up with friends after summer holidays; learn more about new AIWC activities, events, excursions and volunteer service; and to meet new friends and share perspectives about the AIWC and Geneva in general.  Children are welcome to attend and babysitting will be provided in the kids’ playroom.

As always, delicious complimentary food, coffee and refreshments will be served.
