Last Thursday, members of the American International Women’s Club group Traveling Gourmets hosted their monthly potluck lunch in the Club kitchens. The theme for the day was “Texure and Layers” and each dish represented, in some way, these two easily overlooked but vital ingredients in one’s enjoyment of a dish.

Lunch began with mackerel and trout dip on toast, followed by Cuban-style black bean soup, cauliflower risotto, Amish-style vegetables with cream sauce, and Spanakopita. Dessert was just as layered – and luscious – with treats such as peanut butter brownies, mille-feuille, and an assortment of Greek pastries.

Thanks to all of our members who shared their take on “Textures and Layers”!
