The 2014 summer season of free outdoor movies at Parc de la Perle du Lac, offered by Cinétransat, is now underway! Now through August 17, you can enjoy a variety of films after sunset on the shores of Lake Geneva. All films are shown in the original language (VO) and subtitled in French.
Bring a blanket, a picnic, and your friends … the movies are a great way to enjoy Geneva’s warm summer evenings. A variety of movies are on this summer’s schedule, from Saturday Night Fever to Groundhog Day, The Usual Suspects and Mamma Mia, plus films such as Le Grand Bleu, Almanya and Om Shanti Om. There are also several theme nights planned (soirées à thème) to complement the movies, including disco night, Bollywood, and love.
In the event of rain or strong winds, movies may be cancelled. Be sure to check the Cinétransat website, Facebook page, or Twitter for updates on any cancellations for that night’s film.
Getting there: Parc de la Perle du Lac is located on Geneva’s right bank. Reach it by public transportation: tram line 15, stop Butini; bus line 1, stop Secheron; mouettes boat, stop De-Chateaubriand; train, Secheron. The closest parking garage is Mont Blanc. If you go by public transportation, be aware that some movies may end after the last bus is scheduled to depart.

I was really excited when I read the title, but then I was sad because I don’t know French (the subtitles), but then I checked the list and saw a lot of English films so I am happy again 😀 Does CinéTransat often organize these events?
I believe so; the summer movie series has been going on for as long as I’ve lived here, typically mid-July through August.
