Name: Vessy (Veyrier)

Neighborhood Website: http://www.veyrier.ch

Location: Sits at the foot of the Saleve, 5 mins from the border with France and an easy walk into Carouge. It is quite an agricultural area with the flat land being used for private allotments and commercial growers. Nearest Marie is Veyrier , a village with at least 3 restaurant/bars, a church and shops. Rafting Loisirs offer sporting activities and childrens camps using ready access to the river at nearby Pont Sierne.

Favorite Thing about Vessy: View of the Saleve- beautiful in different ways with every season

Least Favorite Thing about VessyNothing – it’s fab

Why Did You Choose VessyIt was more a case of choosing the house because it was the nearest to the children’s school. The delights of the neighbourhood were discovered later.

How Easy is Trash and Recycling to Deal With? Very easy

Additional Notes about Trash and Recycling:  Veyrier is extremely organised- general waste collected twice weekly. Green garden waste once a week, paper collection and household anything at all from fridges to sofas collection once a month. All the above are taken from right outside your door. Other recycling points are very easy to get to.

How Convenient is Public Transit? Very convenient

Other Notes about Transportation:  Excellent bus routes into center of Geneva -No 8 at Stand de Veyrier. Connecting service very good for Carouge and all other routs via No 41.

What Kind of People is Vessy Best Suited For? Lots of families here, the Grand Donzel Park is a great facility. Teenagers are very well catered for by the commune who organise events for them and seem to really respect and encourage them in all the challenges they face.

What Amenities does Vessy Have? Tennis club, fantastic park with football pitches, beachball training area , play area, skate park and lovely restaurant.

What is the Nearest Hospital or Urgent Care Facility? 5 mins down the hill to HUG and Hopital des Enfants. Maternity services are quite close at Grangettes.

Other information about Vessy: Beautiful walks to be had and safe for children to cycle. Lovely area of Geneva with easy access to France.
