Are you moving to Geneva or just planning to move within the area and want to know more about Geneva’s neighborhoods? This is another installment in our series profiling each of Geneva’s neighborhoods. We’ve polled our members who live in the various Geneva neighborhoods and asked them all about their neighborhood.
Name: Cologny
Neighborhood Website: http://www.cologny.ch
Location: Living in the suburbs but a few minutes from the centre of Geneva.
Favorite Thing about Cologny: Location
Least Favorite Thing about Cologny: Constant construction noise
Why Did You Choose Cologny? We didn’t ‘choose’ it……there was nothing available when looking for houses…..then our house went up for sale. Location had nothing to do with it.
How Easy is Trash and Recycling to Deal With? Moderately easy
Additional Notes about Trash and Recycling: We have to drive to the recycling centre……but there are numerous locations around us.
How Convenient is Public Transit? Not very convenient
Do You Need a Car in Cologny: Absolutely
Other Notes about Transportation: The buses are frequent during the morning and afternoon rushes but during the day are only once an hour.
What Kind of People is Cologny Best Suited For? All sorts…..we are surrounded by a mixed group….families, retired couples, young people.
What Amenities does Cologny Have? Playgrounds only….We live in a house so I presume it’s assumed we ‘play’ in our own garden and don’t need parks.
What is the Nearest Hospital or Urgent Care Facility? Les Grangettes, 5 km away
