On a sunny day last month, members of the Traveling Gourmets group of the AIWC took an excursion to Ferme de Merlinge.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch in the garden, followed by a tour of the farm. Before and after the meal, we had the chance to browse for local products in the on-site marché. Locally made jam, bread, saucisses sèches, cheese, wine, infused oils, and vinegars were on offer alongside a bounty of farm-fresh produce.
Berries aren’t yet in season, but later this month, the farm offers visitors the opportunity to pick their own fruit (strawberries, raspberries) for purchase. I’ll be watching for updates to the farm’s website and also checking their answering machine (022 759 18 73), which is updated regularly with information on self-picking.
On Saturdays, some Sundays, and some public holidays, the farm also hosts brunch. Because the brunches are popular, reservations are needed in advance. Click here for information about brunch at Ferme de Merlinge.
