The AIWC Jewelry Workshop launched last Thursday with a rousing and very creative October session on beading. Faced with 26 – count them! – boxes of beads of every imaginable color, shape and material, we rounded the table selecting beads to assemble a necklace and earrings.
Using newly acquired knowledge of beading boards, flat and round nose pliers, crimp beads and clasps, we got down to work.
In no time at all, everyone assembled beautiful necklaces. Next followed matching earrings and even a second necklace.
Two and a half hours passed quickly, and many people lingered to finish their projects and talk to their new acquaintances. Safe to say, a good time was had by all.
Next month – wire wrapping and wire-shaped jewelry.
We are a group of international women living in Geneva, Switzerland. If you would like to join the AIWC, please visit our website at http://www.aiwcgeneva.org/.
