The Fête de Genève is currently taking place, July 19 – August 12.   One of my favorite things about the Geneva festival is the fireworks displays that occur in honor of the fête.

Tomorrow night, Saturday, August 4, there is the Petit Feu d’Artifice.  This show in itself is pretty magnificent.  Last year, I was amazed that it was the “small” show as I was impressed with it.

However, the grand finale of the festival occurs Saturday, August 12th and the fireworks display is 55 minutes long.   This finale is the largest fireworks show in Europe and it is hands down the most amazing show I have ever seen.

Both shows start around 10pm, at sundown.   We sat along the left bank both times last year and had great views.

If fireworks aren’t your thing, you might want to avoid the area altogether.   I saw today on the bus that the TPG service is interrupted from 20:00 to 02:00 for the Petit fireworks tomorrow night.
